Ms. Bell

Ms. Bell

From day one of the new poetry group, it was obvious that Ms. Bell felt zero pressure to fill Ms. Pam's shoes, as many of us made sure that everyone knew about the lasting impression and positive energy imprint that Ms. Bell left on us all.

Mr. Bell walked in with her own plan, and she owned the room when she asked us what did we want out of the group, and she also made it clear that whatever we do, we operate as one, and that all of the hard work that went into reinstating the group has paid off, and that we were now in good hands, her vary capable plans.

For every lesson, Mr. Bell refuses to allow us to work alone as she also participated in every exercise, reading and active research and discussion on the many styles of poetry, recitation of works written during sessions, and providing a stress-free environment for all of us to grow. Her own plan was to join us.

As I write this, we are now in week eleven in our poetry group, and it is amazing what level of intensity the work that Ms. Bell has been able to pull out of us all. The forthcoming poetry slam will be a display of a clear reminder to all that the fine arts for children, society, and for the incarcerated has the same effect on the lives of people awaiting execution.

Save the arts,
